Daria Savytska is a Ukrainian photographer based in Vienna. She currently studies at the Applied Photography department at die Angewandte. Her main area of expertise and focus is the exploration of light. She employs and experiments with various lighting techniques, often with the aim to illuminate the inner persona through exterior means. As well as utilizing colour as a major component to embody emotion. To reveal inner psychic depth of the individual and to make the photoshoots a process of mutual and vulnerable exploration that is not solely focused just on the outcome, yet also values the exchange between the subject and photographer. Subsequently, she uses these tools to weave in these various aspects as well as paying attention to the nuance in atmosphere, aesthetic and concept.
The roots of Daria`s introduction to photography stems from her passion for cinematography. Growing up she spent countless hours immersing herself in movies and states that as a major source of inspiration for her work.
